High Carbon Dioxide absorption capacity of Medical Grade Soda Lime is due to its particle shape giving a higher surface to volume ratio compared with other soda lime brands available in the market. Soda Lime is used in medical applications for removal of carbon dioxide from breathable gas in anesthesia circuits and in hyperbaric oxygen treatment chambers. - Soda Lime is used to absorb expired CO2 during Anesthesia (in Operation Theatres). - Soda Lime is a Carbon Dioxide absorbent of choice for major hospitals in India & across the world. - The major applications of Soda Lime are in breathable gas applications where Carbon Dioxide levels need to be controlled, for example in medical anesthetic breathing circuits. In these applications, the breathable air is recirculated for re-use and therefore any exhaled carbon dioxide needs to be removed in order to prevent a build-up of carbon dioxide to toxic levels. - Soda Lime has application in Anesthetic systems in the medical operations to remove expelled Carbon dioxide due to respiration carried out by the patient or the user.- For medical use, in the closed breathing circuit of anesthesia machine. - Indicator A—0.03%(white to purple) - Indicator B—0.05%(pink to white)Soda Lime is available in 2 types:  With Indicator: As the Soda Lime becomes less effective during use, the granules change their color.  Color Indicator is available in 2 types: Pink to White Indicator on absorption of CO2, white to violet Indicator on absorption of CO2. This color change should not be used to determine when to replace your absorbent, but simply as an indication of recent use.
